Gosh, where is the year going already?

I know we’re not quite into February and Valentine’s Day just yet, but I couldn’t resist this picture because it really illustrates the happiness I feel these days. Can you believe January is almost over? I’m not sure where 2015 is going, but let’s all hang on for the ride.

Do I have things I’d like to change this year? Of course. My financial situation is less than ideal, but that’s just for the moment. I have a plan to fix it by the end of the year.

And the good news is, I’m on track to self-publish my very first novel sometime in February. I have a goal of writing and self-publishing 12 pieces of fiction this year. I’m publishing the novel in two parts. The first part will be free, so people can see if they like it. The second part will probably be, like, $3.99.

I have about 20,000 words to go, but I have it mapped out and am really excited about writing the Big Finish.

After that, it’s on to writing a series of novellas that are going to be SUPER fun both to read and to write. Can’t wait.

Otherwise, I’m still hanging in with my 9-5 job, although I’ve just started exploring other possibilities. If I can’t make a living on my own just yet, I want to find a new job: one that’s more interesting and uses my skills more completely.

My husband also continues to recover from depression, and our life together is much more stable. We have a ways to go to rebuild an emotional connection, but that’s OK. We’re still married and still committed to one another.

I owe so much of my newfound joy to the Three Principles, as outlined in Michael Neill’s book The Inside Out Revolution. I continue to be aware of my thinking but I don’t try to change it. I just give more weight to the thoughts that buoy me, and less weight to the thoughts that bring me down. Simple as that. I create my own life experience through my thoughts, and not one thing on the outside of me — nothing at all — affects me. Now that I can see that every day, it’s like the world has opened up in a way I never dreamed possible.
